Vedanthangal Trip

Posted by Naveen on Sunday, December 5th, 2004

Late November, i proposed a plan to set-off to Vedanthangal. One of our office guys was from this village and i was informed that it was only 40km away and it is in good season with lot of birds. Strangely everyone in Prince’s room agreed and we set off on the first weekend of December to Vedanthangal in 4 bikes.

The Road was luckily excellant as it has been expanded and relaid recently. But it wasn’t 40km! Instead it was some 85km! Anyway we had some nice time, roaming around the bird lake and doing some photography and videography. To finish it off, we had a bath in a deep well in one of the paddy fields. Prince and a few others are happy with the pumpset itself. On the way back, we also visited a mountain temple called “Chinna Tirupathi“.

Here are some interesting snaps from the trip….

The party consisted of Prince, Appan, Naveen, Vasanth, Prasanna, Thiyagarajan and Nithyanandan. Rollover the pictures to get more comments.

This must be the highlight of the whole trip - a typical paddy field pumpset. It really cooled off our hard journey through the road and long walk aroung the lake. Appan and me dived into the nearby well, which had an assortment of crabs and snails.

This monkey tried to get lots of attention from us. So we thought how did purushothaman got here?

On the wayback, we got a glimpse of a large cut-out of our Captain in a college banner. My snap wasn’t clear, just look more deeply. Our mind raced about the opportunities that await the students of this college. They can become Katta Panchayet chief or join STF or join Indian Army to fight in Kashmir… Wow! That’s plentiful. Infact a lot of speeding vehicles paused nearby us and asked what we guys are actively photographing. We said, “Look there, He is the one who saved the rest of Kashmir from Pakistan“. Soon all vehicles changed direction and headed into his compound. So our commentery continues….
